1st step of Salvation

Responsibility before God :  4 R's of Salvation

This step is all about being responsible before God for our attitudes, behavior, lifestyle, choices/actions. The middle letter of sIn is I or an egocentric nature that is self-centered, selfish, self-will and rebellious to our authority especially the authority of God. Therefore, we don't believe what God says and become disobedient to God. This is the totally depravity of man's nature in anyone born in the Adam and Eve family.

Jesus said in Mark 7:21-23 that this is what God sees when He looks into our heart: "For from within out of the heart proceeds; evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man."

Worst yet, mankind is totally dishonest about their true nature. Jeremiah 17:9 says: “Our heart is deceitful above all thing and desperately wicked, who can know it?"
We can know it. : the wickedness that resides in all of our hearts. Self-deception and dishonestly dominates our thinking regarding our true nature. We are clueless regarding both our unrighteousness and our self-righteousness, which speaks of both the sins of the flesh and the sins of the spirit!

One of the greatest tragedies in life is that children learn to mimic their parents attitudes and behavior and particularly are more affected and infected by their parents negative attitudes and behavior. Family dynamics where there is a lack of conflict resolutions are very damaging to children's growth and leads to children becoming “stuck in the past” where their mind-set is always focused on the pain of the past. They cannot enjoy today or plan for the tomorrow because they controlled by the painful events of the past.

Arrested Development or stunned growth of children takes place when children are traumatize by issues of rejection or abandonment by a parental figure. Some children become victim of either incest or sexual molestation by adults. Some children are abused either emotional or physically. Many other children are damaged by their parents divorce or the death of a parental figure.

The end result of childhood traumas is that children bury their pain and undeserved shame in their subconsciousness which causes them to be tormented daily by it. Many of them will try to anesthetize their pain by using drugs and alcohol. This will lead to these individuals engaging in criminal behavior so they can rob and steal to get money to buy their drugs.

These victims of arrested development have a lot of self-pity and anger which leads to them finding scapegoats to blame for their behavior. They will not take responsibility for their behavior and they will not be willing to deal with their issues They must become willing to be proactive about their issues and take responsibility for their behavior and lifestyle.

The sins of their parents have definitely affected and infected them, but they are still responsible for the choices they make. Most important of all, they must take charge and become proactive about dealing with these issues in order that their own children will not repeat the cycle and end up becoming “damaged children in adult bodies.”

Why do we do what we do? That is, choosing to do things that are detrimental to our health and well being? Is it not because there is lodged deep in our soul an evil force that we were born with. This evil force will always cause us to be totally selfish and really to hurt anyone, who gets in our way. This evil force will quickly drives us to the road of self-destruction.

"Now we know that whatsoever the law says it says to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God." (Romans 3:19)

All of mankind are without excuse:  we are all guilty before God!
