God has become unknown to our world. Human beings are supposed to get their first glimpse of God and authority from their father. Unfortunately, many children grow up in homes where either their father was absent or he abandon them. Worst yet, many children had fathers, who abused them. This is why their concept of a heavenly father has been distorted.
Therefore, many people see God as the Force that be with us.
in other words, God is a simple sovereign and all-powerful God, who isn't interested in human beings. Then we see another distorted view of God that sees Him like a sovereign Santa Claus, who is only good at bestowing gifts on human beings once a year.
The wonder of Christmas is that God gave us a sign"....Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel." (Isaiah 7:14) Immanuel means that God is with us. Other words, God has come to dwell with us. He has come to give us a full revelation of Himself.
In Isaiah 9:6: "For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder, and the His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
We are blessed in knowing that the Son of God has experience how a baby feels...He has been a baby. He knows how a child feels...He has been a child. He knows how an adolescent feels...He has lived as a teenager. He has experience what it is to be the head of a family...He lead his mother and brothers and sisters.
We have a God who can empathize with every developmental
stages of human beings. In the book of Jeremiah 9:23-24, we learn that God delights in exercising loving kindness, justice, and righteousness on the earth.
In John 14:8-9: "Phillip said to Him, Lord, show us the Father, and it will be sufficient for us. Jesus said to him, Have I been here with you so long and yet you have not known me, Phillip?
He who has seen Me has seen the Father....I and my Father are one. (John 10:30). Jesus claimed to be God.
In John 5:18: "The Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also He said that
God was His Father, making Himself equal with God."
In the book of Colossians it says: "He is the image of the invisible God, he firstborn over all creation. For by Him were all thing created that are in heaven and earth....all things were created through Him and for Him."
In the book of Hebrews : "God...has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through also He made the worlds; who being the brightness
of His glory and he express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had
by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. (Hebrews 1:1-3).
